Night Will Shine Like Day: A Declaration of Hope

If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. -Psalm 139:12

I wasn’t sure if I should push these t-shirts out given the current state of our nation and all the craziness that is happening. But as I lay in bed thinking and praying about it one night, I felt a sudden urgency to begin this fundraiser. I had already had the idea for a while, but I just felt the Lord saying this message needed to be heard now.

I’ll get right to it: times are pretty dark right now. This little glimpse of hope is something I want to declare over this time. The world is going crazy. But the Lord is working in the midst of this time, shining light in the darkest of places. Darkness is as light to him, he is able to transform what we see as seemingly hopeless.

“Night will shine like day” is not only something I want to declare over the nation and the world in this time of distress, it’s also something I am declaring over this year as I set out with World Race. I know that there is a lot of darkness in some of the places I’ll be going. But that’s exactly why I’m going. I have the light of Jesus and I want to shine that in those places. I want to bring hope, and show others that to Jesus, darkness is light.

As I look around at what is happening with the church in these times, I see that glimpse of hope, the light breaking through. All around the world, the church is uniting. If we didn’t know it before, we know it now, more than ever: the church is a community and a body, not a building.

This is only a small example of what the Lord is doing. Light is breaking through the darkness. And if you can’t see that, what you can do is declare it in faith over the situation.

Darkness is turning into light. Night will shine like the day. It will, it really will.

Thank you so much for taking some time to read this. If you would like to purchase one of my t-shirts and support my journey, click here.

Hope you are all safe and well, God bless!

Emma
